Zachary Murri is a 9-year-old boy who is full of life and love. Zachary is the most easy going, friendly boy you could ever meet. He can't leave anywhere without making sure you get a huge hug, kiss and rubbing noses, which he calls "nosies". Zachary enjoys building Lego and playing basketball, hockey, and Nerf. He loves to go hunting, quadding, and fishing and to do anything else a 9-year-old boy loves to do. He is the sweetest big brother to his 8-month-old baby sister, Kamryn, and a wonderful younger brother to his older sisters Kirsten (14) and Brooklin (12).
On May 19th, 2017, Jaime and Daniel Murri's world was ripped apart as they were told an MRI of Zachary's head and neck done earlier that day showed a brain tumor called a diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (or DIPG). This is a highly aggressive and difficult to treat cancer found at the base of the brain. It is inoperable, and his parents were told to make the most of their time left with Zachary.
Zachary's family has a difficult road ahead. Zachary will be starting radiation treatments on June 1 for 6 weeks, every Monday through Friday, in hopes of shrinking the tumor to extend Zachary’s life. Mom (Jaime) and Dad (Daniel) are taking some time off work to spend as much time as they can with Zachary.
