I'm 37 yrs old and was diagnosed with right focal shoulder dystonia in 2003.  I've tried most, if not all, the typical dystonia treatments with little to no success, including two DBS surgeries, Botox injections, and a baclofen pump.  Due to the chronic shoulder dislocations caused by the dystonia, I eventually had to undergo a scapulothoracic fusion in 2010 and a glenohumeral fusion in 2013.  Since my diagnosis in 2003, my dystonia has spread down my right arm, into my neck, and as of 2015 down into my right foot which has subsequently required a complete foot and ankle fusion. I am doing my best to stay as active as possible through this life trial, while also keeping my spirits high, having hope in my heart and a smile on my face.
