Happy summer everyone, never thought I'd find myself spending my summer fighting cancer, but here we are.
Went in for my colonoscopy screening May 13th, while my colon was clear, the doctor found my appendix was inflamed (no symptoms, no pain), did a biopsy which came back Adenocarcinoma, cancer. This was a shock to all, doctor included. After further tests and laparoscopic biopsy, I was diagnosed June 17th with Stage IV Appendiceal Adenocarcinoma as the disease has metastasized from my appendix to my peritoneum (lining of abdomen) and outside of my bowel.
I am strong, my blood work is normal, my liver and lungs are clear and have a sense of peace about this whole thing, I am confident I will survive!
