Seven years ago, Henry was diagnosed with ITP which is short for Idiopathic Thrombocytopenia Purpura.  This means he has dangerously low blood platelets.  He was hospitalized once before for this condition and since treated on an outpatient basis at Mary Bird Perkins.  This last hospital admission, January 16, 2020 was prompted by extreme fatigue and weakness causing repeated falling.  They have told us that he had internal bleeding, losing blood and his life was in danger if the bleeding was not stopped.  To achieve this, the platelets must be boosted.
