On July 12, 2016, after much anticipation, Hendrix Kunze let out his first cry for the world to hear. There could be no sweeter sound for the proud parents. During pregnancy Rose & Jeff learned that Baby Kunze's life would most likely be full of challenges. Surviving birth was a HUGE victory! Hendrix was immediately taken to the NICU for monitoring, evaluation and genetic testing.
After a very long labor and then hours more of waiting, Rose was finally able to hold her sweet baby boy. Like a good boy, he opened his eyes and just stared at his mommy. The next day Daddy got his turn and his very own staring contest.
Over the course of the next few days, results showed that Hendrix has 2 holes in his heart, 3 kidneys, and 6 toes on each foot. One by one the genetic test results have come back negative. For now he will remain in the NICU for further testing.
Your love and support of Rose, Jeff and Hendrix are so appreciated. Please check back often to hear more about Baby Hendrix's journey :)
