Helen Holbrook

On March 18th, Helen was home at her duplex and fell in her kitchen. Her friends came by to pick her up for cards an hour later and found her. She was not in a lot of pain, but could not stand up. Her friends called for help. She was taken to Unity Point and diagnosed with a left hip fracture. She broke the neck of her femur.  Her pelvis is not broken. She had surgery the following morning. On March 21st, she transferred to Snyder Village rehabilitation.

Since there, She has been getting daily therapy. She is allowed "toe touch" weight. Physically,  she is slowly improving. You will all be happy to know she is her same self. She hosted a group of us for cards last Friday in the "Bistro" at the end of the hall with her nice friend Tom.

Please pray for her continued healing and relief from pain. Therapy can be difficult. Her son Dwight is being his usual supportive self. I just overheard him telling her to quit being such a big baby. For those of you that know this duo - you will appreciate how that made her smile.  I just read this to them and she is laughing....

Thank you Everyone for caring.
