Approximately 2 weeks ago Helena was having nausea with vomiting and a tremor in her left arm. Jessi brought her to the doctor, but before enough testing could be done, Helena had a seizure at home. She was brought by ambulance to Essentia ER in Duluth. A CAT scan was performed immediately, it revealed a large tumor in her mid-brain. She was stabilized & then life flighted to St. Paul Children’s Hospital. During the flight our sweet angel suffered a catastrophic event which her brain cannot recover from.  The staff here at Children’s has done a phenomenal job taking care of Helena, everything possible was done for her! A brain scan and other neurological testing, however, has shown no brain activity, so our precious one has been on life support since Thursday. Helena’s parents are in the process of deciding organ donation.

We want to thank the staff at Children’s for the compassionate care given to Helena and to Ronald McDonald House for taking care of us, her family. They have compassionately housed & fed us throughout this tragic loss of Helena!!
