My mother fell in her house on Monday August 21st.  My dad, Jack, had just brought her back from the cardiologist when it happened. Most of you know that Heidi has Parkinson's Disease and that she has had increasing difficulty over the last few years. That leads us to the falling. She had fallen a lot lately, for a few different reasons, hence the cardiologist.

On Monday,  Jack helped her out of the car and into the kitchen where she was holding onto the counter. He turned his back for a second and she fell. She was unconscious for a little bit and he took her blood pressure and it was very high. She also had a pretty big wound on the back of her head.

Jack then gathered her up and took her to Banner University Hospital(it used to be Good Samaritan). Now he thought she might be OK, since she was able to transfer to a wheelchair etc., in the Emergency Department. Unfortunately Heidi had other plans. She actually fractured her skull in the fall and had some bleeding on the brain. This landed her in the Neuro ICU for a few days.

So fast forward a few days, Heidi is now in intensive rehab at Banner. Here they will evaluate what she needs and see what the next steps are. Heidi recognizes Jack and knows he is her husband, but we haven't gone so far as to ask about Katie or I or the grandchildren. My dad is telling her stories though, hoping it will start to come back.

We don't know what is going to happen, but we all have our fingers crossed for a speedy recovery!
