Well, I suppose now is as good a time as any, to allow family and friends in to my "new" bubble. I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. The diagnose is invasive ductal carcinoma, grade 3. It is considered aggressive but the docs are thinking it has not reached the lymph nodes. But the staging will be done next Thursday to be 100% sure. At this point I do know I will have one year of chemotherapy and at least a total mastectomy to the right breast. Radiation will depend on the stage. It's been a whirlwind of emotions the past few weeks but I'm happy to learn that my care thus far has been beyond what is all great. I want to shout out to ALL young ladies to DO YOUR BREAST SELF EXAMS!!! Cancer does NOT run in my family so this was very shocking! So here's to a new journey that I would like to share with everyone.
