Dear Family and Friends, I was diagnosed with stage 1, Invasive Ductal Carcinoma breast cancer in October 2021.
Since the diagnosis, I have come to discover that I can’t handle this all by myself. Healing is not a linear journey. I suspect that this process will be long, and I ask that you join me. This experience has taught me that it isn’t easy to ask for support, but I know that I need it. I appreciate your patience as I am still in shock, but I am ready to accept your support in every shape and form.
Many of you have asked how you can help and be supportive during my healing journey. I appreciate every offer of help and thank you in advance for your assistance. To best facilitate this, I have created a list of Spiritual, Physical, Mental, Financial (100% of Caring Bridge Tributes go to Caring Bridge not me), and Personal needs and wants.
Financial Support If you feel inclined to support financially, please see the ways in which you can give and donate below:
Spiritual Needs and Wants - Bible verses - Podcast recommendations for daily affirmations - Meditation suggestions (apps)
Physical Needs and Wants - Gift cards for food: Costco, Giant, Safeway, Trader Joes, and Wholefoods, etc. - Meals - Phone calls, video chat (FaceTime), and text messages - Movies and Show suggestions - Active communication during appointments- Due to the current COVID restrictions and office setting regulations, I am not always permitted to have a guest accompany me. I found it helpful to have someone to check in with as if they were there with me. Serving as an appointment buddy for the day.
Mental Needs and Wants - Podcast suggestions - Affirmations - Meditations - Journaling courses and prompts - Books, journals, adult coloring books, and essay suggestions
Personal Needs and Wants - Brent Faiyaz Anything! - Flowers - Socks - Sweatsuits - Candles
During my healing journey, there may be moments that will require me to reside at my parents’ home in La Plata, MD. I request that you mail all packages to my parents’ home (because ya’ll know how my neighborhood is lol).
