This site was created to share my experience with Acanthamoeba Keratitis. My first journal entry summarizes just about everything up to this point. (November 18, 2011).

Below is a link to an article and video about my eye condition; Acanthamoeba Keratitis. It is episode 4 of 6 from Animal Planet's Monsters Inside Me: Masters of Disguise.
If you're sensitive or squeamish... be warned, it's kind of creepy. But it is interesting!

So... back in September my loving aunts (Gretchen, Suzie and Heidi) suggested I start a CaringBridge page to share information with those who are concerned or interested in my eye condition. I was resistant to the idea at first. I felt like this website was more appropriate for people with life threatening conditions or things more traumatic than an eye infection. Even though I knew this was going to be a journey, I didn't think I'd have a whole lot to update on. Well, I have had my own, personal "monsters inside me" and they have set me off on a circling roller coaster. In my Journal you can read the history of my condition from when it started in August 2011 and my updates and progress throughout.
