On Monday, June 20, Harry went to the doctor after suffering from shortness of breath, weakness, and tiring easily. The doctor immediately sent him by ambulance to the hospital fearing he was having a heart attack.

Harry underwent a myriad of tests in the ER and after being admitted. On Friday, June 24, the doctors informed us Harry has Severe Primary Pulmonary Hypertension.

-         “Severe” – He’s in the final stages of the illness.

-         “Primary” – It is unknown what caused this illness.

-         “Pulmonary” – The problem began in his lungs but is causing right heart failure.

-         “Hypertension” – High blood pressure in the lungs.

They informed us that there is no cure for this illness and Harry is terminal. His oxygen is severely depleted so the heart and muscles are not receiving the oxygen needed to function properly.

The diagnosis has been very difficult to come to terms with for Harry, Darlene, and the entire family. Prayers are deeply appreciated! We may be unable to respond to every text and may have a difficult time talking about it so we hope you understand if we refer you to this site for updates.

This page provides an overview of Harry’s illness and prognosis. Journal entries will be updated with his current condition and prayer needs.
