To the best of my knowledge.....Harlan had been feeling poorly and thought he might have a flu bug. He actually started feeling better then took a downhill turn. Friday November 20th he started complaining of a headache and having some slight balance issues. Saturday he and his best friend Tim were working on some things and Harlan started to look really bad. He had some major balance issues, a severe headache, and weaknesses and drooping on the left side. He and friends suspected a stroke! Tim got him to Athens hospital, where the ruled out a stroke but found a tumor. He was careflighted from Athens to Presbyterian hospital in Dallas. Sunday morning he had an MRI and went straight to brain surgery. Sunday afternoon we got word that it was stage IV GBM, a very aggressive, fast growing brain cancer. Unfortunately this is not our first rodeo with GBM ad this was the exact same diagnosis we got just under 6 yrs ago with his mom Lauretta!

Dave, Alvin, the kids, and I loaded up and took off for Dallas on Saturday night the 26th. We arrived in Dallas on Sunday morning and spent till Wednesday there visiting and trying to get plans made. Friday the 2nd of December Harlan was moved to a rehab unit. Sunday evening Virgil and Jim headed to Dallas. Monday Jim, Virgil, and I started working on arrangements to fulfill Harlans wish to come home! Harlan was discharged on Wednesday December 7th. While traveling home Virgil and Jim took Harlan to visit in Illinois where he got to stay at his grandparents home where cousins now live. He got to visit with aunts, uncles, and cousins there that he hasn't seen in years! Then there was a layover in Bloomfield at Virgil and Katrina's. Sunday Jim and Harlan traveled to West Bend to Jim and Sandy's. While there he got to do some more visiting! Monday he arrived at our house where he will be staying with Alvin, the kids, and me for a while. Jerry has been here since Monday visiting and running errands with Harlan.
Harlan has a couple apts lined up at this point and I'm sure many more to schedule.
