This has been such an unexpected journey that we have found ourselves on. On Monday, July 31st, at 19.5 weeks, Guin's water broke suddenly and she was taken to DCH. She was admitted and placed on bedrest while receiving medications to help her progress further along in her pregnancy in hopes of maturing the baby's lungs a little more. Unfortunately, on Wednesday, Guin delivered a beautiful sleeping baby boy. Due to infection, low blood pressure, and complications following delivery, she was taken to ICU where she was experiencing extreme pain and difficulty breathing. She was placed on the ventilator and began to experience systematic organ failure. Under the care of her physicians, Guin underwent a cardiac procedure, in which a temporary machine was placed on her heart to help it regulate and pump blood. She was also placed on a dialysis machine that would run constantly to pull excess fluid off of her body. 


Praise God, that she has been responding well to treatments thus far and became stable enough to be transported to UAB  where a disease specialist is awaiting her arrival.

Having a centralized means of communication will help me to better keep you all informed and reduce the number of texts and calls I am receiving/ sending. We are so appreciative of the outpouring of love and support we are receiving from our family and friends.
