Greyson Coble Greyson’s CDH Journey

First post: Jan 17, 2018 Latest post: Mar 3, 2018

For those of you who don't know, we wanted to give an update on Baby Coble.

The week before Christmas our world was turned upside down,  we learned baby Greyson  has CDH, Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia. The diaphragm is the muscle that separates the chest cavity from abdominal organs.  His diaphragm isn't fully formed, leaving an opening on the left side allowing space for abdominal organs to migrate into his chest cavity compressing his lungs and pushing his heart to the right side of his chest. Due to lack of space in the chest, lung growth is severely restricted and becomes a huge concern.

After he's born he will have surgery to move his abdominal organs that are in his chest back down to where they belong and to close up the hole in the diaphgram.  He will start life in a neonatal intensive care unit fighting to get  better.

We hope to use this site to make it easier to update our family and friends on Baby Greyson’s updates and progress.  Thank you for keeping our baby and family in your thoughts and prayers.

Love, Kyle, Jamie, Kaitlyn, and Greyson
