Gretchen was diagnosed with a cholangiocarcinoma (cancer in her liver & biliary ducts) on May 25th, 2017. She had surgery to remove the cancer including part of her liver and her gallbladder on June 6, 2017. She has had some significant complications, but the cancer was removed with good margins and all of her lymph nodes that were sampled are negative for cancer. She is receiving care at Mayo Clinic, in Methodist hospital.
