Greta Gintoft

Welcome to our Caring Bridge site. We will use this to share updates on Greta and our family over the coming months. Greta Forte Gintoft was born September 22 at 11:36am weighing in a 1lb 7oz, at 23 weeks and 4 days. She going to needs lots of love, prayers, and care so she can grow into a healthy girl. Greta is welcomed by her big brother, William, as well as lots of grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.


Her name: We have always loved the name Greta so that was an easy choice. When we learned she was a girl when we were admitted to the hospital, we didn't have a middle name picked. Amanda was in preterm labor, on bedrest for a few days before Greta arrived. The nurses kept commenting how strong Greta was and how impressed they were with her little heartbeat. The nurses inspired us to chose her middle name, Forte (FOR-tay), which means strong (female) in French and Italian. In music, Forte (or f) means loudly! The continued strength she shows us and the staff proves to us everyday we chose the right name for our baby girl.
