Greg Staley Greg's Temporary Tenant

First post: Jun 12, 2019 Latest post: Feb 20, 2020
A temporary tenant has taken residence in Greg's brain. Greg has semi-affectionately named this finger-shaped tumor "Headley" Lamarr. (Mel Brooks fans will get the reference)
This news came as quite a shock on June 10. Two weeks earlier, Greg had hit his head (not an uncommon occurence) on a tree branch. He had started to present symptoms that concerned him and his wife, Cauleen. They thought he might have a concussion.  Greg was sent for a precautionary MRI, and that is when the brain tumor was discovered.
"Headley" is said to be about the size of an index finger, which starts at the top of Greg's brain and extends down into the brain.  "Headley" is embedded in a way that prevents full surgical removal.  Greg is at Swedish Medical Center, which is highly-regarded for trauma and neurology. The doctors say that it is cancer. A biopsy will be done, so that they can determine the best way to evict "Headley."
During a late night MRI, Greg was told by the Tech. that brain cancer treatment has evolved considerably in recent years. The Tech.  shared that she is seeing more and more positive outcomes.

So don't get too comfortable, "Headley."
