Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Greg was diagnosed with cancer on Thursday, June 15, 2017.  Approximately nine months prior to his diagnosis, he found a small lump on his back.  His doctor recommended watching it.  At times the lump would be painful and at other times it didn’t hurt at all.  If Greg slept on a different mattress, it would get irritated and swell.  He and Katy decided it needed to be removed and met with a surgeon on June 1st.  He had the lump removed from his back on June 12th, and it was determined to be a sarcoma, a rare metastatic connective tissue cancer.  The next day after the diagnosis, Greg had a CT scan of his chest and abdomen that revealed no metastasis.    On Tuesday, June 27th, Greg will meet with a medical and surgical oncologist at Sloan Kettering Hospital in Manhattan.  More analysis is being done on the tumor.  Greg and Katy have met with their Tulsa oncologist who believes Greg has Ewings Sarcoma and has encouraged them to travel to Sloan Kettering, but will manage his chemotherapy in Tulsa.  Greg will need a second surgery and that surgery will be performed at Sloan Kettering.

Katy and Greg believe in the power of prayer and are asking everyone to join them in praying that he will be cured.
