Paul wrote, "Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice," (Philippians 4:4 ) and so, I will!  After all, my doctors are pleased with my progress!  I've definitely cleared a major hurdle with a successful surgery.  It's been a week since I was discharged, and I'm on my feet, eating regular meals again, walking regularly, with hardly any pain.  I even walked a bit over a mile yesterday and today. So again I'll rejoice ! Also, the doctors at NIH explained that from my liver biopsy, laboratory tests confirmed my tumor is considered low grade (grade 1).  This means it's slow growing. And I seem to be tolerating my drug therapy just fine. So, more cause for rejoicing! I will need to return to NIH for another injection once a month from now on.  (It's a really big needle, too.  Thank goodness it isn't more frequent, or I'd have trouble sitting down.) I will go through another round of medical scans in 3 months, followed by additional tests 6 months later. I may need to stay in the hospital overnight those days... A minor inconvenience, but I'll take that!  The doctors say the scans and other blood tests will give them a baseline to see if the tumors have grown or spread. I'll have to be followed closely for two more years at least.  But based on the lab results, all indications point to a good chance I may not need surgery again, at least for a long while.   And I take all this good news as the result of your prayers!  How powerful you are! My humble thanks go out to you, the body of Christ. To have done so we'll after surgery, which comes at some risk -- It's a great great relief, not just to me but for my wife Colleen and my children.  It feels like what Jesus said,  "a good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, ...poured into your lap." It feels blessed. Do you call it a miracle?  Technically, there's no cure yet. There is still a lot of tumor in my liver, too much to safely cut away. But I know one thing for sure: your prayers and your kind deeds for my family during this time have touched me deeply.  I can never take the Body of Christ for granted again. Whatever imperfections there may be among us, I can witness to feeling uplifted by the love of sisters and brothers old and new. Thanks &amp; praise to the Spirit who unites us.  And yes, that to me is miraculous! The sensation is a bit like staying up all night camping with my kids... The night is long and seems to never end but then, of course it does end. There's the sun exactly on time and just where it should be.  I shouldn't feel surprised, but all the same, it's still pretty... refreshing! Marvelous. Comforting.
