Dear Friends, 
As you may have heard, Greg was critically injured on Christmas Day, 2017, in a multivehicle auto accident, that resulted in  him being pinned between 2 vehicles. When EMS arrived he was unconscious and losing a lot of blood from a severe leg injury. He was transported to Beaumont Royal Oak, where he stopped breathing and was placed on a ventilator. It was determined that he had sustained severe damage as well as a torn artery in the right leg, a shattered hip, and bruising/swelling in the brain.  Over the next 8 hours Greg underwent 2 surgeries, one to amputate the right leg below the knee, and one to explore the same leg and his abdomen to find the source of ongoing bleeding. He also went into cardiac arrest twice in the ICU.  A catheter was also inserted into the brain to help normalize the pressure, after it was determined that he had multiple microscopic brain hemorrhages. Updates starting late evening on 12/25 are posted below.
