Thank you to all who have sent prayers, given support, and offered help over the last 48 hours as Greg and Barb have begun their recovery from a serious car crash on Sunday April 4th.  Our families are amazed by the distance and size of the circle of support of friends and family that have reached out to our families with concern for Greg and Barb.  We will do our best to provide a daily update on both Greg and Barb via this Caring Bridge Site to keep this circle of support in the loop of their progress.

On Sunday April 4th at approx. 1pm Greg and Barb were involved in a head on collision with a pick-up truck after enjoying Easter Mass and brunch with family.  Both Greg and Barb were taken by ambulance to Whitehall Hospital.  Barb was airlifted to Mayo in Eau Claire almost immediately after arriving to the Whitehall Hospital and Greg was airlifted shortly thereafter.

Greg sustained a right ankle fracture, pelvic fracture, sternum fracture, 8 rib fractures, a collapsed lung, and left sided facial fractures (including cheek bone and left eye orbit area) in the collision.

Barb's injuries include a pelvic fracture, 4 rib fractures, 3 spinal fractures (no spinal cord involvement), abdominal bruising with a hematoma (collection of blood under the skin) on the right hip area from the seat belt, a right shoulder fracture, and a hard bump to the head with a laceration to her forehead.

Both were met in the Mayo-Eau Claire Emergency room by the trauma team and have been receiving exceptional care every step of the way.  Currently Greg and Barb are on the Trauma Department in separate rooms across the hall from each-other and have made impressive progress in the last 48 hours.
