Family Of Eight Great Christmas for Eight

I learned of Christy and her family's need when a notification came up on a FB virtual "Stuff for Free" site. Christy was asking if anyone could help them with cloths for the kids, a couch, diapers, laundry soup, and dish soap.  I contacted Christy asking if I could help provide for them for Christmas.


Here is what I found out about Christy and her family. 


Christy and her family are Christ followers and rely heavily on their faith to get them through life. Christy has many medical conditions that keeps her from being able to work. Her husband works but money is very tight. Two of the 6 children have medical conditions which require them to spend much time at CHKD.  This is also challenging as they only have one car. 


The family was forced to move out of their last home when the landlord foreclosed on her property.  They put all their belongings in a storage until they could find a place to stay once Chrisy recovered from the birth of baby #6. While in storage their unit was robbed and many of their belongings were stolen. 


Christy and her husband have not been able to buy gifts for their babies for the past 3 years. They celebrate Christmas by eating pancakes and playing family games. When I told Christy that I would like to help provide for them, she was embarrassed and said she has never asked for help before. I asked her to make a list of all the kids sizes and what they might like. I also asked her to include household items they need.  Christy told me that she cried through our whole conversation. It's amazing how God answers prayers and puts people in our paths to help each other out. After all, that's what life is all about. God commands us to Love one another. What better way to do this than to sacrifice what we have for someone who does not?
