Welcome to Grace Oswalt's  CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement and prayers!   Thank you for visiting!

Mom's journey began on Sunday, May 31st when she had not been feeling well for a few days...very tired, speech was slower than normal, and the left side of Mom's face was slightly drooping near her mouth.  A visit to the ER revealed that there was a brain tumor on the right temporal side of Mom's brain.  She was admitted to the hospital that day and had surgery on Wednesday, June 3rd to have the brain tumor removed.  Doing so well after surgery, Mom went home on Friday, June 5th.  On June 16th, the pathology report for Mom's brain tumor was received and revealed that the tumor was classified as glioblastoma, which is an aggressive  form of brain cancer.  Mom has chosen to seek treatment at UAB in Birmingham, AL and will be in the care of great doctors there.  Thanks again for your prayers! ......written by Michelle Chewning (Grace's daughter)
