Grace Nelson

Grace was diagnosed with stage-four nephroblastoma or Wilms tumor, a childhood kidney cancer, on October 14, 2014. This type of cancer affects 8-10 kids out of 1 million. Grace underwent intensive treatment at OU Children’s Hospital that included chemotherapy, abdominal and whole lung radiation therapy and three surgeries, one to remove the tumor and her right kidney. Grace finished chemotherapy July 17, 2015, had her last treatment evaluation July 28, 2015, had her last treatment related doctor visit August 5, 2015, and rang the bell on September 1, 2015. Grace is considered cured and remains cancer free.
