It is every were you go. Someone you know has this battle they are fighting. It is a family member, a friend or neighbor & you just feel just heartbroken for them. It is CANCER. And it is has shown its ugly head in our family. Dec 14 is a day that will forever be etched into our minds. After months of doctoring, tests & biopsies Gordy was diagnosed with Stage 4 Adenocarcinoma Lung cancer, which has metastasized to a bone in the skull & a rib bone.
He has been doctoring in Billings & has received a game plan from them. Unfortunately there are too many spots on his lungs to remove them with operation so he will be relying on Chemo to treat & shrink the tumors. With one of the bones being in the head/neck region they will not do Chemo there, they will just use radiation. We are currently waiting for one more lab result back to finalize the treatment plan. Hopefully we will get some positive news back and be able to use a much easier treatment. Since we are very early in the treatment process, we are still looking at other specialized cancer facilities. Radiation on the skull bone has started in in Billings with hopes to give him some relief from headaches & swelling that he has been dealing with. We won’t know more until after the holidays are over.
Here is to some HOPE that 2017 will bring him positive news and a kick ass treatment plan. We will try & keep you updated on his diagnosis & progress. Please add Gordo to your list of prayers & send him some positive vibes! We have one hell of a fight ahead of us! Love Team Ritts
