Gordon Murphy

At 6:00 on the morning of January 15, 2022, Gordon Edward Murphy died, attended by my beloved Aunt Karen and my beloved cousin, Barbara Joy, who were such a gift to his immediate family as we rested from our vigil.

As with everything he hustled through the transition, despite the strength of his body. And we are grateful that he had confidence that he would see his mother and that his father would be healed and every stinky dog he has ever loved would be there, alongside Jesus who is watching and waiting at the portals calling softly and tenderly for him to come home.

We are asking for extreme privacy for my mom. Please send any correspondence c/o The First Presbyterian Church of Glen Ellyn, 550 N Main St. 60137

Memorial services will be announced shortly.

Donations in his name and in lieu of flowers and meals can be offered to the Midwest Shelter For Homeless Veterans. https://www.helpaveteran.org/

But what he would really like would be if you would 1) dedicate a personal bible study session to his memory and 2) when you gather with friends who knew him ask deliberately, “Can we talk about Gordon for a little bit?” and grieve together.
