Lori Poole Going on an Adventure

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

On October 10th I had emergency surgery to remove an endometrioma that was found on my right ovary. They also removed my right ovary. Now I can say I've had an oophorectomy! Although technically, it was a salpingo-oophorectomy (because my fallopian tube was also removed). In fact, when all is said and done, I'll have had TWO salpingo-oophorectomies. How many people can say that?  But I digress...

Blood tests done prior to the surgery looked good, and there were no red flags raised during the surgery, so the phone call that we received two days later shocked us all: the lab had found cancer in the endometrioma.

Words can hardly do justice to the outpouring of love and support that we received in the days that followed. Meals, texts, treats, prayers, notes, drawings, visits, and more prayers touched our hearts and truly lifted our spirits. The fast that was held in our behalf... the memory of that still overwhelms me. We are indescribably grateful for all of these things.

We feel so blessed. We're definitely going on an adventure...
