Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.  This is Diane and I will be doing the journal entries.   It has been a very stressful and scary journey since we entered Mercy Hospital last Thursday about 4:30 pm .  To make a long story short, they discovered a kidney stone was blocking the tube from her right kidney  to the bladder. The kidney was enlarged and and severely infected which spread throughout her blood and body so she was in septic shock, resulting in renal failure, low blood pressure, dehydration and extremely low platelets (blood cell responsible for clotting).  With the risk of bleeding the urologist was hesitant to place a stent. After  consulting with a nephrologist (kidney specialist) who encouraged her to do it, the stent was placed after a unit of platelets was administered.    She did well through the procedure and was transferred to ICU (about 5am) where she received excellent care until Saturday when she was transferred to a medical floor.  Many specialists and the wonderful staff have reversed the majority of the medical issues and now she has been working  on recovering physically as she feels like she was hit by a Mac truck-Extreme weakness, no appetite, body and joint discomforts. We are all trying to process how quickly this all happened and how miraculously the body can recover!   We are so thankful for God's protection and healing touch.  Thank you for all your prayers and love and support.
