On Sunday December 8th, Glen went to the ER with breathing difficulties after coming down with a cold. Chest X-rays done on Monday showed several abnormalities, so he was admitted as an inpatient where he underwent exploratory surgery of his lungs and tissue biopsies. On Wednesday December 11th, he was diagnosed with Stage 1 cancer in his left lung and Stage 3 (severe) COPD. He's now at home recovering from surgery while he and his wife cope with the new reality of a cancer diagnosis and the uncertain future that entails. I'm his daughter (and only child.) While my family is very fortunate to live in the Atlanta Metro, we still live an hour away from my dad. I have three young children ranging from age 3 to 11, and it's not always possible to pile all of them into the car for hours at a time during school weeks. I'm starting this website: 1) so that I can send out updates to friends and family so Glen and his wife can keep their focus on health and healing, and 2) to enlist the help of others and organize various efforts to help them during this crazy time.
