Welcome to Glenn's Caring Bridge website. Thank you for your support, thoughts, prayers, good intentions and positive energy sent our way.

At the end of May 2018, a routine physical revealed an elevated PSA level and a possible tumor in Glenn's prostate.  A biopsy a few days later confirmed the diagnosis of Stage 2 prostate cancer.  Although his cancer was considered high risk aggressive, he had not experienced any physical symptoms prior to the physical (other than those associated with getting older of course).

Glenn's course of treatment involves 18 months of androgen suppression (hormone) therapy that will end in February 2020, five weeks (five days a week) of external beam radiation treatment, and the implantation of 34 radioactive seeds in his prostate.   The results of the first two PSA tests after the implantation of the radioactive seeds were great news as both were near zero.

Glenn has a great team providing treatment here in Salisbury - Dr. Lee Johnson (urologist) and Dr. Gregory Mitro (radiology oncologist).  Lee and Glenn have been friends since Lee did his vasectomy after the twins were born in 1996.  In addition, Roy was Lee's daughter's debutante escort.  While Dr. Mitro and Glenn only recently met, Dr. Mitro comes highly recommended from many of our medical profession friends.
