Gina Payton Gina 's Journey

First post: Dec 14, 2016 Latest post: Apr 19, 2017
Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place while Gina is on her journey to full remission and recovery. Just a bit of her story...On the morning of October 8, 2016 Gina was taken to the emergency room not feeling well at all. To say she was scared due to her symptoms, is an understatement. Thoughts of her extensive medical knowledge from being a veterinary technician, coupled with the fact that her sister Michelle died in childhood from aplastic anemia were racing through her mind as she was undergoing testing at the hospital.   After some preliminary blood tests, the news she prayed she would not hear was becoming a reality.  She had leukemia. However, in the days that followed, she received some good news, the type of leukemia she had, AML, had a very good chance of going into complete remission. Her doctors have been wonderful, and encouraging which is another blessing, and after her first of at least 3 rounds of chemotherapy, she indeed has achieved remission!!! While this has been a crazy, tough journey so far, God has continued to bless in so many ways and will continue to do so as she continues to lean into Him for strength.  Gina's motto through this journey is F.R.O.G. Fully Rely On God. Her dad got her and her family and friends bracelets to wear as a constant reminder that He is in control, and that she is not alone for one second of this tough journey. We so very much appreciate your prayers, support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you so much for visiting!

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord . For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. "For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it. "For you shall go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and the hills before you shall break forth into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
