Welcome to Gigi's CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Gigi started showing symptoms in July 2013. In September she was diagnosed with PMP, Appendiceal Cancer (PMP = Pseudomyxoma peritonei) and began her first round of chemo.

On May 27, 2014 she was part of a research study and underwent a surgery known as MOAS (Mother of All Surgeries) at Sloan Kettering Hospital in New York City to debulk the tumors in addition to a cold chemo wash (EPIC).

In June of 2015 there was a recurrence of the  cancer.  In October 2015 she began chemo through Minnesota Oncology and the Mayo Clinic, changing formulas every 3 to 6 months until May 4, 2018.

On May 7, 2018 Gigi decided to start hospice care.
