For those that do not know what has gone on the past few months here is a summary.

Mid-January 2017 Gerry moved from her assisted living apartment to the attached nursing home, Pleasant Manor due to weakness and needing two person transfers. A few weeks later while being helped in the bathroom she fell and injured her back which resulted going to the hospital for about a week. She was making a comeback (even though slow) from the fall when she developed cellulitis on her left leg and sepsis on March 10th. She spent 5 days in the hospital treating the sepsis and then came back to the nursing home last Tuesday March 14th. Her appetite decreased to just eating a few bites of food and then on Friday she had no interest in drinking fluids. With her extreme pain from the cellulitis and leg cramps it was decided to get Hospice involved on Saturday to help make her comfortable. Hospice does a great job, the pain meds have worked great but she has been sleeping and unresponsive since Friday. The goal is now to make sure she is comfortable and pain free during these last days.
