On Friday, March 21 Georgia was enjoying a horse ride with her friend Linda on the Putney Woods trails near Langley, Washington. There was some sudden horse kicking and Georgia ended up with severe breaks in both bones of her right arm, cracked pelvis, and a cracked rib. Thanks to WhidbeyHealth EMTs for arriving quickly and relieving her pain before carrying her out of the woods. She was taken to Providence in Everett and once they confirmed there were no internal injuries she was transferred to Harborview for orthopedic surgery on her arm. She was told to expect full recovery of the arm and that the hip and rib injuries would likely not require surgery. She was wearing a helmet, and I'm sure she would like me to advocate for all riders to do so.
