Thank you for visiting..  In May 2018, George was diagnosed with moderately aggressive Prostate Cancer.   Before starting seed implants and external beam radiation treatments, the CT to check lymph nodes revealed an unrelated 9 cm kidney tumor and questionable cells in both adrenal glands.  Following multiple diagnostic tests including biopsies of the left kidney and right adrenal gland, he was diagnosed with Stage 4 Kidney Cancer involving the kidney and  both adrenal glands.  Bones, lungs, lymph nodes, liver and brain appear to be clear at this time.  After reviewing treatment options, we made a decision to proceed with the recommendation to begin Immunotherapy before proceeding with any surgery.  The initial treatment plan is to complete 4 treatment sessions and re-evaluate.  The 2 medications (Opdivo and Yurvoy) are administered by separate IV with one following the other.  Each session takes about 2 to 3 hours total.  He will go once every 3 weeks.  His medical oncologist is Dr. Kanthi Reddy.  Treatments will take place at Atlanta Cancer Care in Cumming which is affiliated with Northside Hospital Cancer Institute.   Treatment for the Prostate Cancer has been put on hold but PSA levels are being monitored.   As shocking as it has been, we have faith that God will guide us through this.  We continue to live life as normally as possible.  All prayers are welcome!
