George Behnam

Dear Family and Friends,

We thank you for all your love and support thus far and hope to use this webpage to keep everyone posted on a regular basis over the next hours, days, and weeks regarding George's status.

A couple of weeks ago during a routine check up with a cardiologist which coincidentally came after a few days of heartburn and stomach pain, an Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm was discovered; roughly 4.5 cm in diameter. This is a bulge in weakened walls in the main blood supply line from the heart to major organs and all other parts of the body coming directly from the heart. As it turns out there was at least one other smaller aneurysm in another part of the aorta on the lower half which branches off to the lower body.

Due to the specifics of the situation as revealed by a CT Scan a surgery was required to graft a replacement for the aorta was necessary. Left untreated rupture of the aorta would have had sudden and most likely life ending consequences; hence the decision to operate.

George has completed the surgery and due to overwhelming family and fried support we have set up this page to keep everyone abreast of the situation and to help us log activity during the process and for posterity's sake.

Thank you again everyone for all your presence, calls, texts, well wishes, medical advice and prayers.
