Sometime on Wednesday, April 19, Gene suffered a hemorrhagic stroke and was hospitalized for a couple days. Physically he didn't suffer any paralysis or drooping, but it did muddle his speech and affect his short-term memory. Because the doctors recommend 24/7 supervision for the next 4-6 weeks, Gene and Rita will be moving into temporary assisted living at Riverton in Richland on Wednesday, April 26. We appreciate prayers because, with both of them having memory issues, they don't always understand what's going on.
