On July 12, we were doing our usual summer things-watering, weeding, deer deterrent spraying, an occasional trip to the mountains, the usual.  Then on July 13, Gene had a CT scan that gave us the diagnosis of metastatic pancreatic cancer.  Gene had been having tummy queasiness since early May, which his internist was treating with the usual ‘let’s try this to rule out…’, the usual protocol.  The gastroenterologist and the internist referred us to Dr. Jill Sullivan at South Carolina Oncology Associates (SCOA).  We have been very pleased with the professional, caring staff there.  The treatment should start next week. We appreciate everyone’s support and prayers.
