On June 23, 2017 I woke up with a small lump that I thought was a hernia. After blood work and an ultrasound, the on-call doctor I had seen wanted me to do a biopsy done.  On July 20th, I met with my Primary Doctor Ann G oerhing who gave me an initial diagnosis of non-hodgkin lymphoma.  She referred me to have more blood work and a CT Scan. On August 1st, I was able to meet with my oncologist Dr. Paul Unger who was able to confirm the diagnosis of follicular non-hodgkin lymphoma and will be setting up a treatment plan which may start as early as next week.

Since I have so many wonderful friends and family, I thought this "blog" maybe the best way for me to share my updates and "stories" of this journey.

I was even able to confirm that I can still jog and exercise as long as I stay within my limits:-) As my son Matt says, "cancer is a word...not a sentence".
