Gary White

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
My dad (Gary White) had a massive stroke on November 26th from a blood clot in his brain. They were unable to remove the clot and he is now paralyzed on his left side. When he came into the
hospital he had a big cold. It caused him to have a hard time breathing because of so much mucus in his chest and they had to put a breathing tube in.   They tried to wean him off of the ventilator but had not been successful.  On Thursday
December 7th they did a tracheostomy because there are more chances in getting an infection with just the breathing tube down the throat.
On Friday December 8th he was moved from Fairview ICU to Bethesda hospital in St. Paul.  Bethesda is hospital that specializes in weaning patients off of the ventilator. They also have speech, occupational, and physical therapy.
