Well, I'm sitting here trying to figure out how to tell my Dad's recent story in a summary of sorts but it's so difficult when the enormity of what's happened in the last couple of months can't even be put into words.  It's still so hard to believe.  Here goes...

My dad (Gary) was diagnosed in mid December (2015) with stage 4 esophageal cancer.  He had been to the dr. several times in the previous 8 months because of fatigue and stomach pain but his blood work had been normal and so they weren't concerned.  In November, he requested that they do an endoscopy because he had begun having pain and difficulty swallowing.  It was with this test that they discovered the tumor.  He and mom decide that Mayo Clinic was the place to go for testing and treatment.  There they were told that his cancer had metastasized and that it was inoperable.  They suggested radiation treatment on the main tumor but also said that his cancer was not curable.

After much prayer, research, and consideration they decided that radiation was not the route they wanted to go.  Did you know that there are many natural/holistic cancer treatments that have a much better success rate than chemo and radiation??  We didn't either but we have been blown away and so encouraged by what we've learned.  So, many people have asked what he's doing if it's not radiation and chemo.  The answer is a lot of good stuff :)  It's essential oils, juicing, the budwig diet (which is food that heals!), apricot seeds, and much more.  All things that are God-given and healing!

Since his diagnosis he has been in pain.  Back pain and rib pain and it's been relentless.  And so we pray!!!

We believe in the healing power of Jesus Christ and trust Him to carry Dad, and all of us that love him, through this journey.  Though extremely difficult, devastating, heart-breaking, and just plain awful, we have Hope in our God!

We thank you all so much for the prayers, love, and support we have already received!  We are so blessed by it all!  We ask for continued prayer for healing, comfort, peace, rest, and hope.  Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

"So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand...
For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you,
Do not fear; I will help you.
