Most of you know that about 24 years ago, in 1993, Gary was diagnosed with Renal Cell Carcinoma (RCC). At that time, he had his left kidney removed and 1/3 of his right kidney. He feels very blessed to have been cancer free for approximatelly the past 24 years. Last week he had his follow up Ultrasound which revealed growth of a mass on his kidney. This was then studied radiologically with a kidney CT Scan; results: yes this is a mass which should be removed. We had an appointment with Dr. Bruhn yesterday and Gary made the decision to go forward with surgery after getting many questions answered and options discussed. He will have surgery next week Tuesday, August 1st. The procedure will be done by "ROBOT" directed by Dr. Bruhn at Kaiser Permanente South Sacramento Medical Center. Gary asks for prayer for this minimally invasive procedure to be successful.
