Gary began this journey by driving himself to United Hospital in St. Paul on Friday because he was having problems with slurred speech and his left ear felt clogged. After hours in the emergency room, he was finally given an MRI. Unfortunately the scan showed a tumor in his Temporal Lobe. He has been admitted at United and is awaiting a 3D image MRI in order for the Neurosurgeon to map out the removal of the tumor. As you know Gary is not one to sit still and is going crazy waiting for the final surgery date. He has trouble speaking at times and getting his words out of what he is trying to convey. Of course his humor is wonderful and we have began a Gary Dictionary. He also insists the nurses deliver him a Bloody Mary (Gary Dictionary would be a Blueberry Mary). Since his requests were denied, I decided to make one that is bottomless (made of tissue paper and condiments). You are welcome to come visit or call him, it just may take a bit to let him get the words out but he would love the company.
