August 10, 2013 Gary lost his wife, Sharon, to lung cancer after seven long years of fighting.  After years of retirement and being Sharon's caregiver, he decided to return to working part-time to fill some of his days.  He also rescued his beloved golden retriever, Colt, who has been quite the friend and companion for Gary.  Although he was now working part-time and spending time with his family and gardening, he felt he needed more and returned to a full time job in October 2016. Beginning in November 2016 Gary started having some nausea and stomach pain. He then started having other stomach 'issues" as time passed. Most of his problems seemed to be following meals, so, his appetite had started to decrease along with his weight.  After leaving Christmas Dinner early due to stomach "problems" and hearing many other times of him complaining of his stomach not feeling well, his daughter, Sarah, encouraged him to see the doctor.  On February 7th Gary saw the doctor followed by an abdominal CT scan on the 8th.  On the drive home from his CT scan on the 8th the doctor on call called him to report a mass being found on his pancreas and to return to the ER for further testing. That is where it all begins...
