The journey actually began the morning of the Preakness race, Saturday, May 20, 2017. As we were getting ready to go to enjoy a day of racing at Belmont Park, Gary wasn't feeling well. An hour went by and still no improvement. Then the unthinkable happened - Gary experienced a severe seizure. Luckily, I had already called 911, and was being talked through it until the paramedics arrived. The diagnosis was an anaplastic astrocytoma, which is inoperable and incurable. This journey is all about learning that next to God family and friends are the most important thing in life.
