Garth Goodwin, a 17 year veteran of the Waco Fire Department, suffered 2nd degree burns and a severe spinal cord injury while working off duty.  He was performing routine maintenance on an elevated billboard sign and came in contact with high voltage power lines that caused him to fall.  Unable to move his legs, he laid there for an extended period of time until someone who lives close to the scene discovered him and called for help.  He was transported to Hillcrest Hospital in Waco then care flighted to Parkland Hospital in Dallas where he is currently receiving treatment for the extensive injuries he suffered.  A long term diagnosis is still unknown.  The entire Goodwin family appreciates the overwhelming concern and support for Garth so we've created this page for you to post any questions you may have so we can respond when answers become available.  Of course all prayers and well wishes you'd like to pass along are appreciated more than you will ever know.  Garth's circle of family and friends reaches far and wide and he needs us all now more than ever.  Thank you again and we will post updates as soon as we can.
