Over the summer of 2021, our father, and Julie's husband, and grandpa to Otto and Kaysa , Gale, was diagnosed with COVID pneumonia. Just a couple of months before that he was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure, and had been in recovery from that when he was exposed to COVID, complicating his battle with COVID pneumonia given his weakened condition. He was put on a ventilator on September 1 at Essentia Health-St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth MN, and was transferred to the church triumphant on September 18.
