Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

As most of you already know, Gail has a condition called Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, which leaves her susceptible to weak arteries which can rupture more easily than normal.  We do not know as yet if this latest episode is part of that condition.  She is currently being moved to GW hospital and is resting more comfortably until the doctors can figure this thing out.  It appears right now that it has something to do with her carotid artery and we do not know yet how it will be treated...surgery or otherwise...until she and her doctors confer.  The good news is that she is being cared for by the very best doctors and she is not in Africa!  My brother Jimmy is with her tonight, and I will arrive in DC at 10:40 tomorrow morning, barring any travel delays.  I am praying that she will not require surgery tonight.  I will send another update when I know more, hopefully tomorrow.
