Thanks for visiting my CaringBridge website. I wanted to share a bit about what’s happening at the moment and let you know how you – my dear friends and family – can best support me.
As you probably know, I’ve had Waldenstrom’s macroglobulinemia, a low-grade lymphoma (a type of blood cancer), for more than four years. Recently I was diagnosed with a more aggressive type of lymphoma, diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. At first, I was scared because of the word “aggressive,” but my doctors say the average remission rate is ~80% so I’m hopeful and in good spirits.
The treatment will be chemotherapy: 6 rounds of it, 3 weeks apart. My first chemo session is Wednesday, November 8th and my last will hopefully be at the end of February. I will have fabulous support as my kids and sister will be able to be here for each of the chemo sessions. I won’t need any rides or meals.
The best way that you can help me is to send me encouraging words, especially scripture, by US mail or writing a note here on my CaringBridge website (my mailing address is Gail Arcari, 52 Missionary Road #3217, Cromwell, CT 06416-2170). I won’t be checking email much and I’d prefer not to receive phone calls except from family. My goal is to focus on my health and get better and I appreciate in advance all your good thoughts and prayers. Jesus is with me and I have a good attitude, so I feel ready for the treatment.
